Tonight, the 62nd annual Grammy Awards took place at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. During the ceremony, Billie Eilish won the award for Album of the Year for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? *Cue the confetti*
The artist beat out I, I by Bon Iver, Norman F***ing Rockwell! by Lana Del Rey, Thank U, Next by Ariana Grande, I Used to Know Her by H.E.R., 7 by Lil Nas X, Cuz I Love You (Deluxe) by Lizzo and Father of the Bride by Vampire Weekend.
Album of the Year has been around since the first Grammy Awards ceremony in 1959. Since the category recognizes the entire work—not a single track like Record of the Year—the statuette is given to the artist, the producers, the recording engineers and the mastering engineers.
