ATLANTA (AP) _ Graphic Packaging Holding Co. (GPK) on Tuesday reported first-quarter earnings of $57.9 million.
On a per-share basis, the Atlanta-based company said it had profit of 19 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 21 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 18 cents per share.
The packaging company posted revenue of $1.51 billion in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.53 billion.
Graphic Packaging shares have climbed 22 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 19 percent in the last 12 months.
