Green Plains: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ Green Plains Renewable Energy Inc. (GPRE) on Monday reported fourth-quarter profit of $53.5 million.

On a per-share basis, the Omaha, Nebraska-based company said it had net income of $1.13. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 96 cents per share.

The ethanol production, marketing and commodities company posted revenue of $827.5 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $15.9 million, or 39 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $3.86 billion.

Green Plains shares have climbed 2 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 25 percent in the last 12 months.
