MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Jun 12, 2013) - Groupe Sensation Mode (GSM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-Pierre Desrosiers as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Montréal Fashion Week (MFW). Desrosiers, a certified professional accountant and partner in the Fasken Martineau law firm, is known for his continued commitment to the artistic community, which has earned him numerous awards.

As a strategic advisor, Desrosiers' experience, particularly in financial audit and management of non-profit organizations, has matched his ongoing support of the artistic community. Throughout his distinguished career, first with KPMG from 1980 to 2010 and then at Fasken Martineau, Desrosiers has served on the Board of Directors for numerous organizations.
Among his many appointments, he is co-Chair for the Forum Arts-Affaires de Montréal, Member of the Board for Compagnie Marie Chouinard and of the Conseil des arts de Montréal; Chairman of the Board for Théâtre La Chapelle and Cirque Éloize; Chair of the fundraising campaigns for the Théâtre du Rideau Vert, Théâtre Prospero and the Centaur Theatre; and also Patron of Honour for the Arion Baroque Orchestra. His commitment to the arts was recognized in 2011 after being awarded the Prix Arts-Affaires by the Chamber of Commerce, and in 2013 with the Ramon John Hnatyshyn Award, presented as part of the Governor General's Awards for the Performing Arts.

MFW, which has grown to become a cultural event, will have its 25th edition take place in September. This semi-annual meeting highlights and adds value for fashion designers through providing a forum for collection launches, conferences and private engagements. Each season, 20 fashion designers launch their collections at the event. MFW has the support of many partners, which include P&G Beauty & Grooming, Target, Heineken and Rowenta.
