Hello! If you want to read something that'll ruin your day, buckle up, because Chrissy Teigen just let the internet know they've been pronouncing her last name wrong for years. Yeah, for years.
Basically, here's how this went down. Last night someone tweeted about the fact that everyone says Ariana Grande's last name wrong, writing, "You know how innocent you have to be to allow a world to pronounce yo last name wrong yo whole life and just go along with it?" Which is a fair point. Love you, Ari.
And then, someone replied to that tweet by saying "Well we pronounce @chrissyteigen's name wrong all the time," just out of the blue, with no context whatsoever.
Like, I'm sorry WHAT? How can you just drop that bomb and walk away. So of course, considering Chrissy is Chrissy, she hopped in to deliver the facts. Apparently it's true, and we've all been betraying Queen Chrissy this entire time. It's TIE-gen, not TEE-gen.
And when someone so dutifully pointed out that she herself says it the wrong way, this is what she had to say:
The craziest part is that this doesn't just happen with her last name. This stems from a whole lifestyle of politeness.
