LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Guess Inc. said Wednesday that it has named Michael Relich as the clothing and accessory company's new chief operating officer.
Relich is the company's chief information officer, a position he has held for the past nine years.
Guess announced in November that its prior chief operating officer J. Michael Prince was leaving the company, along with its chief financial officer, Dennis Secor, a move that caused its shares to plummet.
The company said that Relich is a strong leader who is well recognized within the industry for his skills.
"I believe, more than ever, that the integration of technology, speed, and brand synergy is vital for our success. Michael's proven experience in these areas makes him a great fit as our new chief operating officer," Guess co-founder and CEO Paul Marciano said in a statement.
Guess shares fell 66 cents to close at $30.02 Wednesday and were unchanged in after-hours trading following the announcement.
