Gwyneth Paltrow, long time queen of Hollywood and founder of Goop, is returning to TV acting. Yep, in an exciting development in the entertainment world, Gwynnie has revealed she'll be taking on a starring role in a new Netflix show, The Politician, which is coming this September.

According to the actress-turned-businesswoman, only her husband Brad Falfchuk, who wrote American Horror Story and Glee, could convince her to circle back to acting. After she founded lifestyle company Goop in 2008, she said she had simply been "masquerading as an actor" before establishing the brand.

"Only @bradfalchuk and his ingenious writing could get me back to the original day job," Gwyneth captioned an Instagram post sharing the news. "The Politician starts on @netflix September 27 (my birthday!)".

Bohemian Rhapsody's Lucy Boynton and American Horror Story's Jessica Lange are also starring in what is set to be our Netflix obsession for autumn. Billed as a dark comedy, The Politician centres around a wealthy Santa Barbarian - Payton Hobart - with dreams of becoming Student Body President.

Ryan Murphy, who co-wrote the show with Brad, shared his excitement on Instagram on Friday. "My first Netflix show! So proud of this incredible project and the incredible cast. And I can’t wait for you to binge it in September.”

Neither can we, Ryan, neither can we.
