On a per-share basis, the Irvine, California-based company said it had net income of 7 cents.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 4 cents per share.
The operator of fast casual burger restaurants posted revenue of $73.9 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $73.3 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $4.7 million, or 27 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $283.8 million.
Habit Restaurants expects full-year revenue in the range of $338 million to $342 million.
Habit Restaurants shares have declined 20 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $13.80, a drop of 35 percent in the last 12 months.
