Hang Seng Index tumbles on investor jitters that new US-China tensions could undermine partial trade deal

So investors remain cautiously optimistic that an interim trade deal can be worked out between the US and China. But US President Donald Trump's signing of legislation supporting Hong Kong protests sparked strong criticism from Beijing.
