Harris Wins New Contract

Harris Corp. (HRS) recently announced that it has won a contract worth $42 million from Chester County, Pennto to set up a superior technology called Project 25 (P25) Phase II system, wherein the company will set up an emergency communications system across the city to offer better coverage, interoperability with nearby radio systems.

Harris will mount remote transmitter and receiver sites and alter the microwave system that joins the remote sites to the 9-1-1 operations center in the county Government Services Center and the South Coatesville Site.

The emergency responders, which include new mobile radios, portable radios and control stations for emergency responder applications, will be updated by Harris by changing the county’s 9-1-1 consoles and equipment. After completion of the task, the company will retain the new system for next 8 years.

Harris currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
