HBO Is Coming To Apple TV!

Apple is adding HBO Go to Apple TV by mid-2013, Bloomberg reports.

It will only be available to Time Warner subscribers who already pay for HBO. But those who have it will be able to watch more than 600 hours worth of movies and TV shows, according to Bloomberg's sources.

HBO Go is already offered on Roku and Microsoft's Xbox.

“We’ve said we would like HBO GO accessible on all preferred platforms so we are always having discussions with a variety of companies," HBO told AllThingsD.

Apple currently only offers nine outside apps on its platform, including Hulu Plus and Netflix, but AllThingsD's Peter Kafka thinks we'll soon see Apple open its TV box to more outside developers.

In Q1 2013, Apple sold more than 2 million of its set-top boxes. In the last two fiscal years, Apple has sold more than 7.8 million.
