Bitcoin Cash advocate Calvin Ayre is well known for being a, erm, colourful character as Coin Rivet can testify from personal experience.
The Canadian-Antiguan entrepreneur likes to think of himself as a pusher of boundaries. But he was accused of going too far this past week when he fired off the following tweets.

This attempt to portray himself as a billionaire pirate living the high life overseas impressed a small minority of his followers but outraged far more. Their problem was with the ages of the Cuban girls who appeared in the tweets.
Cue various people claiming that they were reporting him to the likes of Twitter, Interpol, the police and child abuse charities. And enter John McAfee. “As unsolicited advice from the King of Badass, this is a dark alley you’re wandering down,” he tweeted. “Unfortunately, by your association to the crypto world, you are dragging us down that alley. You are a bright man. Pause for a moment and look at your reality.”
There were cries of ‘hypocrite’ in some quarters. McAfee did, after all, once date a 17 year old woman. He’s an unlikely moral authority, it must be admitted. Take a look at his Twitter feed and you will learn about guns, drugs, booze and the correct way to make love to a whale. Oh, and crypto, of course.
But to quote the man himself: “My post advising Calvin about posting vids of pre-teen girls: “Didn’t you yourself live with a 17 year old?” People asked. Yes I did. Where do you think I got the experience to be able to advise someone on this issue? I have made every mistake that can be made in life. I learned.”
These words of wisdom fell on deaf ears, unfortunately.

Also this week, Ayre, who a few years back was investigated for illegal gambling and money laundering, announced the sale of tickets to his CoinGeek conference in Toronto this May. Perhaps a boycott of this event is in order until he also learns from his mistakes?
