The C8 Corvette has a removable roof panel as before, but Chevrolet's new mid-engine sports car will get a proper convertible version, too. After the Mid-Engine Corvette Stingray coupe was revealed tonight in California, Chevy previewed the upcoming drop-top version of the C8 on video.
It appears the C8 convertible will have a retractable roof panel that folds under a tonneau cover similar to that of a Ferrari 488 Spider or McLaren 570S Spyder. Where the coupe has a hatchback with a glass cover revealing the new Vette's 495-hp 6.2-liter V-8, the convertible's engine will be obscured by this tonneau.
