With the overturning of Roe v. Wade made by the U.S. Supreme Court in June people are looking to various ways to practice safe sex to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.
Texas is one of 22 states that will make it a felony to perform an abortion at any point in pregnancy.
While abstinence is a sure way to not get pregnant, those sexually active should consider another form of birth control: condoms.
In Corpus Christi, the average price of condoms from H-E-B, Target and Walmart range from $3.94 to $19.99. But did you know there are several businesses in the Corpus Christi area that provide free condoms?
If you're nervous to visit a business for free contraceptives, visit texaswearscondoms.com to receive free condoms. Shipping is free, but takes four to six weeks for delivery.
Next time you're running errands, stop by one of these places to pick up some protection.

Types of condoms
Spermicide: Contain sperm-killing lube. Recommended for vaginal intercourse but not oral or anal sex.
Spermicide-free: For people allergic to spermicides.
Latex: Strong and common. Not to be used with oil-based lubricant due to risk of breakage or slipping off.
Non-latex: For people allergic to latex or prefer to use oil-based lubricant. Polyurethane type are stronger than latex.
Female: A latex-free pouch that a woman inserts into her vagina. A new one must be used each time.
Lambskin: Made from the lining of animal intestines. They are not the best at protecting people from sexually transmitted diseases or pregnancy, so it's best to avoid these.
Flavored: More of a novelty and to be used during oral sex. They are safe for normal intercourse, but switch to a different type of condom if there is irritation.
Glow-in-the-dark: Another novelty condom, but they are typically latex and safe to use for vaginal, oral or anal sex.
Ribbed: Sheaths have additional texture on the outside to add stimulation.
Thin: A condom with slightly less material to provide a more realistic experience.
Lubricated: Reduce friction with lubricant built right in the condoms.
Tingling: A specially formulated lubricant provides a sensation for one or both partners.

Don't store condoms in a wallet as heat and friction can damage them.
