Journalist Ronan Farrow recently published his book, War on Peace: The End of Diplomacy and the Decline of American Influence, and he's now shedding light on who did-and didn't-want to contribute to the finished piece.

On Good Morning America, Farrow said it was hard to get people to go on the record for his book, which includes some of Farrow's experience as an official at the State Department.

'Hillary Clinton had scheduled an interview while I was at the height of the Weinstein reporting, and her folks got in touch and said, "We hear you're working on a big story," [They] sounded very concerned and tried to cancel that interview,' Farrow told ABC's George Stephanopoulos. Stephanopoulos said he was surprised to hear that, to which Farrow responded, 'It was surprising.'

Farrow recently won a Pulitzer Prize for his New Yorker story that detailed numerous sexual assault allegations against Weinstein, a piece that, in conjunction with The New York Times' own investigation, helped jumpstart the current #MeToo movement. Clinton did ultimately agree to be interviewed on the record for Farrow's book.

Clinton and Weinstein have been linked for years, as Weinstein often helped fundraise campaigns and even donated $10,000 (£7,187) to Bill's legal defence fund after he faced impeachment in the late '90s, according to the Times. During Hillary's 2016 presidential run, actress Lena Dunham warned Hillary's aides about the allegations against Weinstein, though Dunham told the Times she didn't think the campaign ever did anything about her warnings.
