BATESVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ Hillenbrand Inc. (HI) on Wednesday reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $74 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Batesville, Indiana-based company said it had a loss of 99 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, were 53 cents per share.
The diversified industrial company specializing in business-to-business products posted revenue of $648.9 million in the period.
Hillenbrand shares have dropped 43% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $18.86, a decrease of 55% in the last 12 months.
