Yasmine Maalik will begin her challenging road to recovery in Hollyoaks next week.
The teenager was injured in the bomb blast earlier this week, which was set off when the hate group's Jonny Baxter dropped an explosive device that he'd wanted to set off in The Loft.
Yazz has been in hospital ever since, but she has unfortunately continued to experience after-effects from the explosion. It was revealed in Thursday's first-look episode that she has developed major hearing loss.
The next chapter begins next week as the Maaliks support her recovery from her other injuries. When it comes time to leave hospital, Yazz has fears about returning home because it was the site of the blast.
A concerned Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) will then reach to Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) to ask if Yazz and Imran can temporarily stay with her. Will this help Yazz during the healing process?
While Yazz's recovery process remains uncertain at this stage, the soap has confirmed the future for bomber Jonny Baxter — actor Ray Quinn will leave the soap once this far-right storyline wraps up.
"He is gobsmackingly good," showrunner Bryan Kirkwood told Metro. "He's so charming and sweet in real life, and he has grown up on television sets and X Factor green rooms – he has got no life experience comparable to what he is performing on screen.
"Yet, he is so compelling, fierce, and horrible. I just think he is extraordinary. So it's a bittersweet thing. I would have loved to have had Ray Quinn for the next 10 years. But equally, to have him for one year like this has been a really good thing."
Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
