Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis addresses Sinead's on-screen absence
Yesterday's (November 15) extra-long episode of Hollyoaks on E4 should have featured a lovely wedding between Sinead O'Connor and Sami Maalik, yet it instead featured the apparent death of Stuart Sumner.
The wedding didn't go ahead not because of some disastrous stunt, but because Sinead just... didn't turn up. Instead, she text Sami to say she was in staying in Spain and she couldn't go through with the ceremony. Which is even worse for Sami, isn't it?
Some fans believe that Sinead has actually exited the soap, which would add to the 'bigness' of yesterday's episode, but that's not actually the case.
Responding to viewer tweets, actress Stephanie Davis said: "Big love for the tweets guys! The love is UNREAL as always. I’ve not gone anywhere don't you worryyy! I Cannot WAIIITTT to get back.
"I've not left, Im just having a well earned rest and took some time out to spend with my baby boy.
"It's my home! Get me back behind that camera."
The actress also told another viewer that it wouldn't be long before she comes back, so we can expect to see the fallout of Sinead and Sami's wedding soon too.
The only question left now is, what is going to happen between Sinead and Sami when she does return?
Okay, so there are more questions than that, mostly surrounding that apparent death.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look episodes airing at 7pm on E4.
