Home mortgage volumes fell to five year low in Q4, WSJ reports

During Q4, the volume of home mortgages originated declined to its lowest level in five years, according to an analysis by Inside Mortgage Finance, an industry newsletter, reports the Wall Street Journal. The report confirmed significant declines in mortgage production that many banks have reported over the past two weeks. Volumes fell by 19% in Q3, and another 34% in Q4.
