Honda recalls 870K vehicles

The Japanese automaker is recalling nearly 500,000 minivans and SUVs in the U.S., as many as 870,000 globally, after complaints related to faulty ignition systems. Honda Motor (HMC) said 318,000 Odyssey vans made in 2003-04 and 259,000 Pilot SUVs from 2003-06 are affected. No cost estimate was given. Toyota Motor (TM) is expected to announce a recall to replace defective emergency trunk releases in 700,000 Lexus cars, Consumer Reports said. Honda shares rose 1.6%. Toyota rose 0.9%.
