The death of Li Wenliang " the 34-year-old doctor who tried to alert the public about the virus outbreak, only to be reprimanded by local police -- has dampened trading sentiment in both Hong Kong and the mainland.

In mainland China, the official death toll due to the novel coronavirus is 636 people.
