SPRINGFIELD, IL--(Marketwired - April 28, 2014) - Teacher Appreciation Week is just a week away and The Horace Mann Companies has already kicked off its "Teach It Forward" giveaway. Entries are being taken now, and from May 5 - 9, Horace Mann will randomly select an educator each day to receive a gift valued at $500, and then that educator will select another educator to surprise with a gift valued at $500.
"You've heard of the good deed campaign 'Pay It Forward,' this is our way of thanking teachers," says Horace Mann Social Media Director Kristi Hillyer. "Not only does a teacher get a chance to win our contest, but they also get the chance to feel great about helping make another teacher's day."
Horace Mann is also showing its appreciation for teachers in other ways:
- Horace Mann's Day of Donations - On National Teacher Day, May 6, Horace Mann will flash fund $25,000 in DonorsChoose.org projects. They'll fund randomly selected projects up to $1,000 per project; one project per teacher. Follow the funding on Twitter at #ThankYouTue.
- "I Teach It Forward!" featured educators - Visit horacemann.com or Horace Mann's Facebook page during Teacher Appreciation Week to meet educators who inspire their classrooms, challenge their students and battle adversity to #TeachItForward.
