Hourly Employment Marketplace, Snagajob, Announces Latest Membership Milestone With 50 Millionth Job Seeker Registration

Record Number of New Registrations in 2013 Pace Snagajob for Rapid Growth in 2014

RICHMOND, VA--(Marketwired - Feb 11, 2014) - Snagajob, America's largest hourly employment marketplace for job seekers and employers, today welcomed its 50 millionth registered job seeker on Snagajob.com. The announcement comes after a record year where Snagajob registered more than 8.8 million new members in 2013. The company is now on pace to register one million new members every 40 days.

"Reaching 50 million registered job seekers is a big milestone for Snagajob, and it shows that our company and products are solving an incredible pain point for hourly workers in this demanding job market," said Peter Harrison, president and chief executive, Snagajob. "Moving forward, we'll continue to grow our business and offer more services that help our job seekers find a job, as well as employers find the right people. We are really looking forward to what the rest of 2014 brings us."

With over 300,000 job postings available at any one time on Snagajob.com, job seekers can search for specific jobs by title, industry or company and filter their results by specific locations. Seekers can also opt into daily job alert emails, increasing the opportunities employers have to get their active job postings in front of motivated job seekers.

"Our active job seekers represent a substantial piece of America's hourly workforce, which makes up roughly 60 percent of the nation's workforce as a whole," said Jason Hamilton, vice president of marketing, Snagajob. "As a result, Snagajob is uniquely positioned to benefit employers looking for a competitive advantage in recruiting the best talent available."

With 42 percent of Snagajob members between 18-24 years of age, mobile communication presents an alternative vehicle for employers to reach job seekers and currently accounts for more than 44 percent of all job seeker traffic to Snagajob. "Snagajob is excited about the potential for mobile," said Hamilton, as it continues to employ its "mobile first" strategy, which looks to shorten hiring processes and increase connections made between job seekers and employers.

"Snagajob made it easy for me to transition from food service to retail by tailoring my recommended jobs based on my interests," said Snagajob member Rachelle, from New York. "I also heard back from employers in about 2 weeks...and received many interviews, which I nailed because of the interview advice on (Snagajob.com)."

Created in 2000 to help job seekers find open hourly positions, Snagajob has grown over the last 14 years into a robust hourly employment network that offers job postings for hourly positions, recruiting and hiring solutions for hourly employers and job search advice for job seekers.

Snagajob reached 10 million members in April of 2008, since then the company has seen a steady increase in the pace of membership growth, reaching the 20 million mark in January of 2010, 30 million in July of 2011 and 40 million in December of 2012. With its latest milestone, Snagajob now has over 50 million members and is on pace to reach 60 million at the fastest rate in the history of the company.
