Suzanne Whang, who hosted HGTV's "House Hunters" for nearly a decade, died on Thursday after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 56.

Whang's partner, Jeff Vezain, took to Facebook to announce her death in an emotional message. "On Tuesday evening around 7:20pm, Suzanne breathed her last breath here at home, as I knelt beside her and caressed her. For thirteen years she confronted cancer with courage, humor, determination and optimism. She was immensely encouraged by the love of her family, friends and those she had yet to meet. Your kind, loving messages always lifted her spirits," he said in part.

Whang was born in Arlington, Virginia. She hosted HGTV's wildly popular show from 1999 to 2011 and went on to host "House Hunters International" from 2009 to 2012.

The late actress also had a recurring role as Polly Nguyen on 4 seasons of "Las Vegas," and appeared in other shows such as "Dexter," "For The People," and "The Mick."
