MIDDLETON, Wis. (AP) _ Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. (SPB) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $728.6 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Middleton, Wisconsin-based company said it had net income of $14.07 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 26 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 38 cents per share.
The holding company posted revenue of $906.7 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $873.5 million.
HRG shares have risen 48% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 13% in the last 12 months.
