HSBC to review Canary Wharf HQ and consider new London base

LONDON, Sept 29 (Reuters) - HSBC will undertake a review of whether to keep its global headquarters in London's Canary Wharf financial district, according to a staff memo seen by Reuters on Thursday.

The bank said it had decided to review "the best future location in London" before the 2027 expiry of the lease on its 45-floor tower at 8 Canada Square.

The bank said the review would include the option of staying and rennovating the tower, adding that it would keep its global headquarters in London. (Reporting by Sinead Cruise and Iain Withers Editing by Huw Jones and David Goodman )
