Huawei P10 And 9 Best Smartphone Cameras By DxOMark Rating

Huawei's latest international smartphone was announced at Mobile World Congress Sunday.

New reports indicate that the Huawei P10 is the latest smartphone to get top marks on the DxOMark benchmark for mobile camera quality. With a score of 87, the Huawei P10 is the fifth best smartphone camera on the market, ahead of some admirable contenders, including devices by Sony, Samsung, HTC and Google.  

The DxOMark testing process takes into account several aspects of image capturing, such as flash, noise, color, autofocus, texture and artifact, among others. Here’s a rundown of the top smartphone camera, according to DxOMark and their main features.

Google Pixel

The Google Pixel has an 89 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with 1.55µm pixels,  f/2.0 aperture, phase detection, laser autofocus and dual-LED flash.  It also includes an 8-megapixel front camera.

HTC 10

The HTC 10 has an 88 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 12-megapixel rear camera with  1.55µm pixels, f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, laser autofocus and dual-LED flash. It also includes a 5-megapixel front camera.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has an 88 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, optical image stabilization, laser autofocus and LED flash. It also includes a 5-megapixel front camera.

Sony Xperia X Performance

The Sony Xperia X Performance has an 88 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 23-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. It also includes a 13-megapixel front camera.

Huawei P10

The Huawei P10 has an 87 rating on DxOMark. The device features a dual-lens rear camera set up with a 12-megapixel RGB lens and 20-megapixel Monochrome lens at f/2.2 aperture. The camera is able to shoot in 4K and includes autofocus and optical image stabilization. It also includes an 8-megapixel front-camera.

Moto Z Force Droid

The Moto Z Force Droid has an 87 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 21-megapixel rear camera with 1.12 µm pixels, f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, laser and phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. It also includes a 5-megapixel front camera.

Samsung Galaxy S6

The Samsung Galaxy S6 has an 87 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 16-megapixel rear camera, with 1.12 µm pixel size, f/1.9 aperture, optical image stabilization, phase detection autofocus and auto HDR. It also includes a 5-megapixel front camera.

Sony Xperia XZ

The Sony Xperia XZ has an 87 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 23-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture,  laser and phase detection autofocus and LED flash. It also includes a 13-megapixel front camera.

Sony Xperia Z5

The Sony Xperia Z5 has an 87 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 23-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. It also includes a 5.1-megapixel front camera.

Apple iPhone 7

The iPhone 7 has an 86 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization,  phase detection autofocus and quad-LED flash. It also includes a 7-megapixel front camera.
