Huawei's 2020 developer conference delayed by weeks due to virus outbreak

Huawei has postponed its annual developers conference to the end of March.

To protect the health of those who plan to attend the Huawei Developer Conference 2020, the company is postponing the conference from February to March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

As the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak continues to touch lives across China, Huawei delayed its annual developer conference to protect the health and safety of those who intend on being present. The conference was originally planned for February 11 and 12 in Shenzhen, China and has been rescheduled for March 27 and 28.

For guests who are unable to travel or are uncomfortable with being at the conference, it can also be watched live via webcast.

At the time of writing, 26 people have died from the virus and over 800 have been infected. Multiple cities across Asia have cancelled Lunar New Year celebrations -- even part of the Great Wall of China will close -- in an attempt to slow the number of those infected.

Whether the outbreak will be under control by the end of next month cannot yet be predicted. As of right now, the dates for Huawei's conference are locked in for the end of March.
