OAK BROOK, Ill. (AP) _ Hub Group Inc. (HUBG) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $13.2 million.
On a per-share basis, the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company said it had net income of 39 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and severance costs, came to 60 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 24 cents per share.
The transportation management company posted revenue of $779.2 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $780 million.
Hub Group shares have fallen almost 3% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $49.96, an increase of 21% in the last 12 months.
