Hunter Schafer Gives the Fall Boot a Radical Makeover

Photo: Getty ImagesSince lighting up our screens in HBO’s Euphoria back in June, Hunter Schafer has quickly established herself as this year’s breakout style star—and not just for her character’s trademark (and much-imitated) kaleidoscopic eyeshadow. Before she began working as a model, Schafer had aspirations to study fashion design at London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins. The actress channels that passion today via the offbeat labels she chooses to wear on the red carpet, the likes of Eckhaus Latta and Lou Dallas, typically paired with a pair of well-loved Margiela Tabis.
She’s also professed in the past that one of her all-time favorite designers is Rick Owens. So, when she was cast to walk in his Spring 2019 show last year, it was a dream come true—and now, it seems the love is mutual. Yesterday, Schafer posted a snap to Instagram of herself wearing head-to-toe Rick, and serving a fierce pose that showed off a custom pair of burgundy, knee-high Grill Kiss boots. Never one to miss a trick on the makeup front, she painted her lips in a similar deep red shade, along with a kohl cat-eye that echoed the sharp shoulders of her structured, tabard-style dress. The finishing touch? In typical Schafer style, she wasn’t afraid to get crafty with her accessories, fashioning a hand bracelet from matching red ribbon. You can take the girl out of fashion school, but you can’t take fashion school out of the girl.
