THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) _ Huntsman Corp. (HUN) on Tuesday reported first-quarter earnings of $119 million.
The The Woodlands, Texas-based company said it had net income of 51 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 46 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 41 cents per share.
The chemical company posted revenue of $2.03 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.1 billion.
Huntsman shares have increased 20% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 23% in the last 12 months.
