The Chicago-based company said it had profit of 19 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 58 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 63 cents per share.
The consulting company posted revenue of $195.2 million in the period, beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $183.5 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $37.6 million, or $1.76 per share. Revenue was reported as $798 million.
Huron Consulting expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.40 to $2.70 per share.
Huron Consulting shares have decreased 11 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $45.10, a drop of 11 percent in the last 12 months.
