Iggy Azalea and Nick Young aren’t friendly exes.
The Australian rapper blew up over a report that she had a “dinner date” with her ex-fiancé at Craig’s in L.A .on Sunday. The 27-year-old singer says it was pure coincidence that they were at the same place at the same time, and said she would never share a table with the guy “who created a full human behind my back.” M-e-o-w.
The pair, who split for good in 2016, after the Golden State Warriors player impregnated his ex, did come face to face at the celeb-loved restaurant. But it was purely coincidence. She arrived for dinner and hours later, he followed with a group of guy friends. He seemed genuinely confused when paparazzi mentioned a “reunion” as he arrived at the restaurant.
“The unfortunate thing about LA is there are not that many places people eat,” Iggy tweeted on Monday. “You can be in the middle of one of the most important dinner meetings of your life, and randomly your ex and all his friends walk in the same place.”
When the tabloid the Daily Mail reported that Azalea and Young had a dinner date, she wrote in a now deleted tweet that she would never “EVER, EVER have a dinner date with my ex who created a full human behind my back.”
Then she put a Christmas curse on the reporter in another now deleted tweet: “Ryan Smith of the Daily Mail, I curse you to cut your finger open deeply every year on a broken Christmas ornament.”
As for Young, he joked about the coincidence when he left the restaurant. After making it clear he had no idea that Azalea was going to be there, he shared his advice for how to handle a potentially awkward situation like that. “Send ’em a drink,” he said.
Azalea and Young started dating in 2013 and became engaged in 2015. However, the following year, he was caught on tape by a Los Angeles Lakers teammate bragging about cheating on her. While she stuck with him initially, they split after she learned he impregnated his ex Keonna Green, with whom he already shared a son. Young and Green’s daughter was born in October 2016.
