If you've got a buck and a hankering for pancakes, IHOP can help with that. On May 21 only (that's today!), from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., IHOP is offering a short stack of its original buttermilk pancakes for just $1, with every cent from that dollar going to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. The foundation provides college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.

IHOP aims to raise $1 million today from its short stack sales-an amount that'd be huge for the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. Since 2002, Fallen Patriots has provided over $29 million in total assistance to over 1,417 children.

Here are the rules: As stated above, you've got 12 hours to take advantage of this deal...a few of which have already passed by. The deal is only valid on a short stack of the classic pancakes, and every customer can only get one. Any extras you choose to buy-drinks, sides-will cost you more than the $1. Kapeish? And if you aren't able to make it to an IHOP, you can still participate in their money-raising efforts: You can donate any amount directly to the foundation or choose to support a specific cause, like purchasing school supplies, books, a computer, or funding a full semester of college.

IHOP is known for being a particularly charitable chain. Every year for more than a decade, its National Pancake Day proceeds benefit children's hospitals-primarily those affiliated with Children's Miracle Network.
