Pal will address the new types of hybrid fiber and copper broadband access networks that are enabled by new technologies such as VDSL2 with Ikanos NodeScale™ vectoring and G.fast, as well as the rates, reach and services that will be supported. In his role at Ikanos, Pal has led the innovation effort to define new architectures for scalable, high-bandwidth, mixed-media networks.
Pal is a 30-year veteran in the communication and semiconductor industry and a DSL pioneer. He has extensive experience identifying and developing new technologies and products, and a proven record of successfully bringing products from concept phase through product delivery. Pal holds seven U.S. patents, has published more than 30 technical papers, and is a Fellow of the IEEE. He was also a Consulting Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University between 1997 and 2009.
