Homes Under the Hammer and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! 2016 star Martin Roberts has issued a "really important warning" to his followers after he ended up in hospital after coming into contact with a poisonous plant while gardening.

In a series of videos on his Instagram page, Martin shared that he was in A&E at 3.30am waiting to see a doctor as he explained he'd come into contact with the sap from a plant called Euphorbia, which caused him "some serious issues".

"This is a really important warning, it's 3.30 in the morning and I'm in A&E," he said in the clip.

"After doing some gardening earlier on and there's a plant called Euphorbia, you need to look it up on the internet because it's in lots of people's gardens and when you cut it, as I did, it produces a sap, a white sap.

"If you get that on your hands, and worse, if you get it on your eyes then it causes some serious issues and that's exactly where I am right now.

"It started stinging," he continued. "It's got worse and worse and worse as this evening's gone on and I couldn't sleep so now I'm just waiting to see a doctor. So listen, look out for this plant Euphorbia."

Thankfully, the TV presenter shared further videos revealing that he's been recovering after his A&E visit and in his latest update he shared that he's home from hospital and on "lots of drugs and various eye drops" but also thankful for all the well wishes he's received.

"As you can see, my eyes are still in a right old state, and I feel pretty lousy," he said, before also showing followers the plant they should be looking out for.

"Thank you so much for all your kind words and get well soon wishes. But I want to make sure that you don't fall into this experience that I have."

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! will return later this year on ITV.
