NEW YORK (AP) -- Outsourcing services provider WNS Ltd. has hired Deepak Sogani as its chief financial officer, saying his work history could help the company grow.
The company, which is based in India, said that Sogani, 46, has more than 20 years of experience in finance and business management. He had most recently been an executive director at Dalmia Bharat Ltd., an Indian holding company for several businesses.
He replaces Kumar Subramaniam, who was serving as the company's interim chief financial officer since August when its former chief financial officer, Alok Misra, left the company.
WNS' services include accounting and other finance functions, customer service and technology. The company's net income has yet to fully recover to its levels from before the financial crisis and the global downturn.
U.S.-traded shares of WNS gained 18 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $11 in late afternoon trading. The stock has gained 20 percent this year.
