Ingersoll-Rand Q4 profit rises

The Ireland-based climate control and security products maker earned 76 cents per share in Q4, same as a year earlier, beating analyst estimates by 5 cents. Ingersoll-Rand's (IR) provision for income taxes more than tripled during the quarter to $69 mil from $18.2 mil a year earlier. Revenue fell 1% to $3.47 bil from $3.51 bil, topping Wall Street views of $3.45 bil. Industrial technologies revenue rose 3% but climate solutions fell 3%. It sees Q1 EPS of 35-40 cents, below estimates of 47 cents. Shares rose 1.9%.
