The Chicago-based company said it had net income of 14 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 15 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 13 cents per share.
The company that provides and manages marketing supplies for businesses posted revenue of $288.4 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $288.6 million.
InnerWorkings expects full-year earnings in the range of 47 cents to 50 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $1.12 billion to $1.15 billion.
InnerWorkings shares have risen nearly 6 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $10.41, a climb of 23 percent in the last 12 months.
