Insider Buying: The Osino Resources Corp. (CVE:OSI) Just Bought CA$100k Worth Of Shares

In this article:

Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that Ross Beaty, who is a company insider, recently bought CA$100k worth of stock, for CA$0.78 per share. However, we do note that it only increased their holding by 1.0%, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Osino Resources

Notably, that recent purchase by insider Ross Beaty was not the only time they bought Osino Resources shares this year. They previously made an even bigger purchase of CA$400k worth of shares at a price of CA$0.35 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of CA$0.82. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.

Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 2.05m shares worth CA$773k. On the other hand they divested 80000 shares, for CA$48k. In total, Osino Resources insiders bought more than they sold over the last year. The chart below shows insider transactions (by individuals) over the last year. Insider Ownership of Osino Resources

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. It appears that Osino Resources insiders own 20% of the company, worth about CA$13m. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.

So What Does This Data Suggest About Osino Resources Insiders?

The recent insider purchase is heartening. And an analysis of the transactions over the last year also gives us confidence. However, we note that the company didn't make a profit over the last twelve months, which makes us cautious.
