The maker of da Vinci robotic surgery systems' Q4 earnings climbed 13% to $4.25 a share. Revenue rose 23% to $609.3 mil. Analysts had expected Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) to earn $4.04 on sales of $584.4 mil. Intuitive sold 175 da Vinci systems in Q4 vs. 152 a year earlier. Procedure growth was 25%, despite declines in U.S. prostate surgery using the da Vinci system. Shares fell 14% over 3 days in mid-Dec. after Citron Research said it thinks new legal challenges will drive share price down as low as 350. But shares rose 6% late Tue. after a 2% regular session gain.
