BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) _ Investar Holding Corp. (ISTR) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $4.9 million.
The bank, based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, said it had earnings of 48 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 46 cents per share.
The holding company for Investar Bank posted revenue of $24.1 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $18.1 million, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $17.5 million.
Investar shares have fallen slightly more than 6% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $23.25, a decrease of 9.5% in the last 12 months.
