The rumors were true! Apple revealed today the brand new iPhone Xs, an addition to the iPhone X line that improves upon last year's model. Or so they say. Here are the details we learned from Apple's annual event.

The iPhone Xs has a 5.8-inch OLED screen, which is the same as last year's iPhone X, but with a more impressive Super Retina display. And, for the first time, Apple is offering a version with 512GB of storage-half a terabyte, a.k.a a lot of storage.

Apple introduced a never-before-used shade of gold for the iPhone Xs. It also comes in silver and space gray. It boasts the "most durable glass ever in a smartphone," plus it's waterproof. And its battery life is 30 minutes longer than the iPhone X.

Now for the most pressing question: How does one pronounce "Xs"? It's technically "10 S." But you would be forgiven for thinking of it as "extra-small" or "excess." Apple's naming algorithm is nothing if not punishingly confusing.

Along with the iPhone Xs, Apple also revealed the iPhone Xs Max-a massive version with a 6.5-inch screen. The Xs starts at $999, and the Xs Max starts at $1,099. Pre-order begins September 14, with the phones available September 21.

We'll update this post as we learn more.
