Irina Shayk Just Got Candid About Her Ex, Bradley Cooper

About seven months after the internet broke over Irina Shayk's breakup with Bradley Cooper (and the Lady Gaga drama of it all), the model is back on the cover of British Vogue and sharing a very rare statement about life after her four-year marriage. Shayk and Cooper, who coparent a three-year-old daughter together, split back in June 2019, smack-dab in the midst of A Star Is Born mania and a lot of cheating speculation.

It was reportedly Shayk, 34, who ultimately decided to pull the plug on her marriage with Cooper. “Recently, Irina decided enough is enough. She didn’t feel she was getting the level of commitment she wanted, and the endless fighting made their life unbearable,” a source told ET at the time. “They are very different people, and once they realized it was the baby that was holding them together, it was time to call it quits.”

Vogue checked in on Shayk's life post-Cooper. “I think in all good relationships you bring your best and your worst—it’s just the nature of a human being,” she told the publication. “Two great people don’t have to make a good couple.”

Earlier in the article, Shayk spoke at length about her "tough personality" and her tendency to "cut ties" with those who've wronged her.

“I have a strong personality and I definitely know what I want, and I think some men are scared of that," she said, adding, "If somebody’s out of my life, they’re out of my life and I really cut all the ties, you know? I think some people are really scared of this coldness. I also think not many people know that underneath this there’s a nice, sweet person who cries in interviews.”

But when your ex is also the father of your child, that's not so simple. “I think we’ve been very lucky to experience what we had with each other," Shayk said. "Life without B is new ground.” (Can we just take a second to collectively freak out over the fact that she calls him "B"?!)

“It’s hard to find a balance between being a single mom and being a working woman and provider," she continued. "Trust me, there are days I wake up and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t know what to do, I’m falling apart.’”

Well, if this Instagram (above) is what falling apart looks like, there's no hope for the rest of us.
