He noted that one of the systems was already in action in Ukraine, but did not specify where exactly, since “this is a No. 1 target for the enemy, just like the HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System).”

“But I will say that during the last shelling, the IRIS-T showed itself to be extremely good,” Ihnat said.

“This is certainly information about a baptism of fire of this system. It has been successfully tested for its combat capability.”

According to the spokesperson, the only drawback is that there are few such systems in Ukraine.

“It is expected that the German industry will gain momentum to increase the amount of production and provide Ukraine with as many of these systems as possible for arming the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he added.
