Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Marcell Dareus is currently facing two separate lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault, with one also alleging Dareus of exposing the woman to a sexually transmitted disease.

Both lawsuits have been reportedly filed in civil court, with no record of criminal charges being filed for either incident.

Marcell Dareus’ first sexual assault lawsuit

The first lawsuit, filed in Hillsborough County and reported by the Tampa Bay Times, alleges Dareus hosted a party at a rented seven-bedroom mansion that featured “10-12 strippers,” other unnamed NFL players and freely available marijuana and cocaine. The party reportedly took place the same week as the College Football Playoff championship game in Jan. 2017, in which Dareus’ college team of Alabama was playing.

The unnamed plaintiff reportedly met Dareus at a Tampa nightclub, when she received an invite to the party, where she alleges Dareus took advantage of her while she was “blacked out.”

The suit alleges that Dareus “grabbed her breast and attempted to put his hands between her legs,” and that she resisted his advances and told him to stop. She had been drinking and “blacked out,” but recalled being guided down a hallway to the master bedroom with Dareus behind her. She said she woke up in bed with her clothes disheveled and Dareus unclothed and asleep next to her, and “began to immediately realize that there had been sexual physical acts upon her person.”

After the incident, the plaintiff reportedly said she was “emotionally distraught” and initially kept quiet out of embarrassment and self-guilt. Per the Times, no criminal charges have been filed over the incident.

Marcell Dareus’ second sexual assault lawsuit

In the other lawsuit, obtained by News4Jax.com, Dareus is accused of having sex with a Texas woman while she was unconscious and knowingly giving her herpes in April.

The woman is identified only as a Jane Doe and is reportedly seeking more than $15,000 in damages.

The complaint states Dareus and his accuser went on a date in Houston April 7 that ended with them spending the night together at a hotel. It states that when the woman woke the next day, she could not recall what happened the night before, but Dareus told her they had sex.

The complaint goes on to say that Dareus saw the woman the following two days and the pair had sex on multiple occasions. Later the same week, the complaint argues, the woman came down with symptoms and went to see a doctor, who diagnosed her with herpes.

According to court records from USA Today, Dareus has not been charged with any crimes stemming from the second incident. A spokesman from the Houston police also reportedly told USA Today he can’t say whether or not Dareus is under investigation, citing Texas privacy laws.

Dareus, his attorneys and the Jaguars have not yet released a statement addressing the allegations.

Dareus landed with the Jaguars in the middle of last season after seven-plus years with the Buffalo Bills, in which he garnered two Pro Bowl appearances. In September 2015, he signed a six-year contract with $60 million guaranteed.
