LOWELL, Ark. (AP) _ JB Hunt Transport Services Inc. (JBHT) on Monday reported first-quarter net income of $119.6 million.
On a per-share basis, the Lowell, Arkansas-based company said it had profit of $1.09.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.25 per share.
The trucking and logistics company posted revenue of $2.09 billion in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.2 billion.
JB Hunt shares have climbed 13 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $105.53, a decline of slightly more than 6 percent in the last 12 months.
