Sept 11 (Reuters) - JD Sports reported an 18.7 percent rise in first-half earnings on Tuesday, as demand for its sportswear rose and it expanded overseas, helping it overpower what it called "retail challenges" in its UK home market.
Profit before tax rose to 121.9 million pounds ($159.10 million), for the 26 weeks ended August 4, from 102.7 million pounds reported a year earlier. ($1 = 0.7662 pounds)
