Jennifer Aniston Is Finally on Instagram, and Her First Post Was a Friends Reunion

It’s been 15 years since Friends aired its final episode—for context on how long that is, Ross and Rachel’s baby, Emma, is now all grown up and appearing in Jordan Peele movies—but we, as a society, simply refuse to get over it.

Was Friends sometimes problematic? Sure, but if you know of a more comforting show to fall asleep to, I’m all ears; it’s like a mug of Sleepytime tea you can access with a Netflix log-in.

Fans have been clamoring for a Friends reunion ever since the lights went down on Central Perk for the last time, and while we’ve seen occasional cast matchups (remember on Episodes when David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc ran into each other as paid guests at a foreign dictator’s birthday?), there’s been no official reunion news yet.

Until now. (Kind of.)

It appears Jennifer Aniston has heard our pleas and finally started an Instagram account, a fact that she and the five other Friends celebrated with a group selfie, which Aniston captioned, “And now we’re Instagram friends too. Hi Instagram.” Aniston has already amassed 1 million followers, but—like a true influencer in the making—she only follows 88 people, including Tom Ford, Julia Roberts, the makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, and, of course, Oprah.

Fifteen years later the sixsome looks pretty much the same; David Schwimmer’s hair is at Ross-level glory, Aniston’s highlights are as pitch-perfect as ever, and Courteney Cox is positively aglow.

The Friends selfie is thus far the only post on Aniston’s Instagram, and really it’s all we need to start speculating about a series reunion. Sure, a somewhat blurry group shot isn’t necessarily a sign to uncork the Champagne, but for now we’re choosing to interpret it as good news.
