Jerome Dodson (Trades, Portfolio), founder and chairman of Parnassus Investments and lead portfolio manager of the Parnassus Endeavor Fund (Trades, Portfolio), will be a speaker at the 2020 GuruFocus Value Conference in Omaha on Friday, May 1 (the day before the Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A)(NYSE:BRK.B) annual meeting). Dodson manages the portfolio for the firm's Endeavor strategy, which invests in U.S. large-cap companies with demonstrated long-term competitive advantages, quality management and positive performance on environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. The fund prefers deeply discounted and undervalued stocks and avoids investments in fossil fuels.
The Parnassus Endeavor Fund manages $3.76 billion in assets and has returned 23.73% year to date. It has outperformed the S&P 500 by 2.89% over the past month, 0.42% over the past 10 years and 2.37% since April 29, 2005.
As of Sept. 30, Dodson's top holdings for the fund were Applied Materials Inc. (NASDAQ:AMAT), Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MU), Lam Research Corp. (NASDAQ:LRCX) and Perrigo Co. PLC (NYSE:PRGO). His largest sector allocations were in technology (43.69%), health care (22.53%) and financial services (15.08%).
